Captain Jacques-Yves Cousteau Captain Jacques-Yves Cousteau was best known for his exciting adventures aboard the oceanographic vessel "Calypso", voyages which have been documented in many television programs, and for his invention and development of the Aqua Lung over 45 years ago. The underwater pioneer dedicated his adult life to the protection and improvement of life supported by our planet's water system.
