As a highly valued Lindbergh Foundation Associate, you will be recognized in the Newsletter's "Associates Honor Roll."

To demonstrate how contributions from Associates further the Lindberghs' vision, consider this message from a grant recipient. In her letter Dr. Pamela Parker said, "This program is the direct inheritance from the work supported by the Foundation almost 20 years ago. The articulation of values by the Foundation at that time was the central event in my professional life." Read More

Kenya Wildlife Service Grows What began in August 2008 as a simple partnership between the Lindbergh Foundation and Patty Wagstaff to support her work training the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) pilots to safely protect wildlife from poachers, has evolved into a special project of the Foundation that has grown to include expanded training opportunities for the KWS pilots, a DVD documentary filmed by journalist Miles O’Brien, and the facilitation and donation of a Factory-new 180HP A1C Husky thanks to a donation from Dr. Rich Sugden.

Grant Recipient Spotlight

 Dr. Peter Wrege

Dr. Peter Wrege's 2007 Lindbergh Grant project studied "using acoustics to monitor poaching and elephant populations in forest clearings in central Africa."  Now, he's working with Wildlife Conservation Society biologist Andrea Turkalo to develop the world's first elephant dictionary.  Wrege says the project is in its infancy, stating, "We're in Kindergarten, now."

Read about Dr. Wrege's research and find a link to the "60 Minutes" segment here.

Dr. Steven W. Moore has brought middle and high-school students up-to-date on the latest in wireless video and Internet technology while getting them outdoors and giving them a fun, safe way to connect on a deeper, more meaningful level with wildlife near their homes and schools.

Students designed and conduct experiments in which they used technology by positioning solar powered web cameras, infrared lights, long-range wireless Internet access equipment, and web-linked motion sensors outside in natural settings to answer their own questions about wildlife. This experience may strengthen their involvement and commitment to environmental preservation. > Read more about Dr. Moore
