Master of Ceremonies and Lindbergh Foundation Director Miles O'Brien presents the 2007 Lindbergh Award to Dr. J. Michael Fay.  The award was created by Erik Lindbergh.

Sarah Susanka spoke about her new book "The Not So Big Life," after receiving the Anne Morrow Lindbergh Award.  The glass globe on the podium was entitled, "The Not So Big Earth" and was created by Eric Hopkins.

                                                                              

 

 

 

 

 

 

Miles O'Brien presents the 2007 Corporate Award for Balance to Robyn Beavers of Google. Erik Lindbergh created the award, entitled, "Evolution of Spirit."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A replica of the "Jenny" floats above the dinner area at the Minnesota History Center.  Charles Lindbergh flew a "Jenny" in the early 1920s, when he first learned to fly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mayor Chris Coleman of St. Paul welcomed the crowd to the City and spoke about what St. Paul is doing as a responsible citizen of the environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Several 2007 Lindbergh Grant recipients were at the 2007 Lindbergh Award Celebration. 

From left to right:  Amy Lang, Max Teplitski, William Knecht, Jason Edens, James Smith, Clare Hallward (Chairman of the Lindbergh Grants Selection Committee), Tom Ehresman, John Zhai, Peter Girguis, and Catherine Cloud.

Their projects address:  aviation (Lang, Knecht, Ehresman); coral reef health (Teplitski); economics of solar heating for energy assistance programs (Edens); purifying drinking water (Smith), energy efficient building technology (Zhai); microbial fuel cells from soil (Girguis); and sustainable agriculture (Cloud).
